2 March 14:10

Last weekend, traffic police officers conducted a “Drunk Driver” raid on the roads of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. During the inspection activities, inspectors checked the condition of all motorists passing by. If there were signs of intoxication, drivers were asked to undergo an examination on the spot.

As a result, police identified 89 cases of drunk driving. Of those detained, 15 drivers had previously been prosecuted for similar offenses – now all of them have become defendants in criminal cases. Administrative protocols were drawn up against 74 motorists; they face a fine of 45 thousand rubles and deprivation of the right to drive a car for a period of 1.5 to 2 years.

“These facts are a gross violation of the traffic rules of the Russian Federation and pose a serious threat to road safety,” the traffic police noted.

Also, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate reminded residents of Krasnoyarsk and the region that the price of a drunken trip can be not only criminal or administrative liability, but also human life.

Krasnoyarsk residents are asked to report drunk drivers spotted on the roads by calling the Blue Line 2-63-10-19 and in the chat bot @Alkoline_Krsk_bot.
