Vasilije Kostov, a midfielder of only 17 years, promoted last summer to the first team of Red Star Belgrade, is on Inter's list for the summer mercato.
Cristi Chivu proposed that in the summer he would substantially improve his lot. He intends to part with an entire squad, including many “veterans”, and bring in quality players. But instead of some top players, due to the lack of substantial funds, the club focuses on young talents.
Vasilije Kostov has 33 appearances for Red Star, but against FCSB he was a substitute
One of those targeted is, surprisingly, a 17-year-old midfielder, Vasilije Kostov, who was promoted to the Red Star Belgrade first team last summer, from the Under 19s! Kostov made no fewer than 33 appearances in 2025-2026 in all competitions of the season, which speaks to his value at an extremely young age.
Only in the match against FCSB, from the single group of the Europa League, played in Belgrade, Kostov was forgotten on the bench by the former coach, Vladan Milojevic. The midfielder is already quoted at 10 million euros on Transfermarkt.de.
Italian journalist Matteo Moretto confirms: “Kostov is a very promising player
Inter's interest in the Red Star Belgrade player was confirmed by Italian journalist Matteo Moretto on transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano's YouTube channel.
“Inter are interested in Kostov, who they are following with great interest. The Nerazzurri are very interested in him and have initiated the first contacts. There are other clubs abroad that are interested in him, including some very prestigious ones in Spain.
But Inter is positioning itself. Kostov is a very promising player, there is a lot of talk about him”, claims Moretto.
