After analyzing the collected materials, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński decided to also refer Patryk Jaki's case to the party ethics committee, PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek said on Saturday. Earlier, the cases of three other PiS politicians were referred to the committee. The four of them got into a discussion with each other.

On Friday, Bochenek announced that due to violating the ban on initiating discussions harmful to PiS, Jarosław Kaczyński referred the cases of Mateusz Morawiecki, Ireneusz Zyska and Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka to the party ethics committee. Politicians got into a discussion with Patryk Jaki.
Patryk Jaki before the ethics committee. Escalation of the dispute within PiS
On Saturday, the PiS spokesman said that after analyzing the collected materials, Jarosław Kaczyński decided to also refer Patryk Jaki's case to the party's ethics committee.
This includes: about Thursday's exchange of words on the X platform between Morawiecki and Jaki. A former activist of Sovereign Poland posted a video from a meeting with students in Lublin, during which he was asked how confident voters could be if PiS wins the next elections, that “no more SAFE loans will be taken and the government will not become further dependent on the EU.” The student also assessed that Jaki and politicians associated with Sovereign Poland in the past have a “clear conscience” in these matters, but they are not the majority of PiS MPs.
I won't lie, I was afraid of how our party would behave (in these matters), but now I am encouraged. Of course, there are several MPs who behave differently – it is worth observing which ones do not learn and cannot draw conclusions. However, now I can say that I am proud of the entire party, they do not allow themselves to be blackmailed. (…) This is finally the PiS I wanted it to be – says Jaki in the recording.
Axis of the conflict: Mateusz Morawiecki vs. Patryk Jaki
The following people reacted to the entry on X: Mateusz Morawiecki. “For a long time, you have been mainly criticizing – not Donald Tusk, but the achievements of the PiS government from 2015-2023. The government in which you were in. This is why our support has been falling so much since winning the presidential elections,” the former prime minister emphasized. In his opinion, “it is easy to criticize from the box of mocking reviewers, even when you are in the government – it is harder to take responsibility for something, even if you sometimes make mistakes.”
“Patryk, since you are now an expert and know the remedy for every problem, tell me: how did the flagship reform of the judiciary go? And how did your act on the Institute of National Remembrance benefit Poland? In our policy towards the EU, all important decisions were accepted by the PiS political leadership,” Morawiecki noted.
Reaction of other PiS politicians. Defending the government's achievements
In reaction to these words of the former prime minister, MP Ireneusz Zyska wrote on X that Jaki “does not lack courage, but it is not enough to be a statesman.” “It's good that you follow the example of Mateusz Morawiecki and meet with students. It is advisable to work on personal development. However, you will not reach Mateusz Morawiecki's class,” he added.
MP Mirosława Stachowiak-Różecka emphasized at X that “our colleagues from Sovereign Poland were admitted to PiS not to change us, but to draw conclusions from common experiences and cooperate.” “Is it really worth discrediting the achievements of several years of good government for the well-being of one of your colleagues? We had differences with the Sovereign on various issues, but somehow we created a common government for several years – we managed,” she added.
President's ultimatum: an end to “harmful discussions”?
Since the end of November last year There are many extensive exchanges of opinions between PiS politicians in the media and on social media platforms, in which members of each PiS faction took part, criticizing each other.
In mid-February, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński announced that from then on, “anyone who speaks out in a harmful discussion, regardless of merits and position, will be suspended from the rights of a PiS member, which will also have an obvious impact on his political future.” He added that such behavior “extremely harms Poland and PiS.” PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek clarified for PAP that it was an exchange of words between former Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Ryszard Terlecki and PiS MP Sebastian Kaleta, which sparked a wide discussion on social media with the involvement of many other PiS politicians.
