The task force, established by the U.S. Department of State, is intended to help Americans who are stranded in the region or otherwise at risk following Israeli-American attacks on Iran and Iranian retaliatory strikes. It is unclear whether the US will organize government evacuation flights, as it did during last year's 12-day war with Iran.
