Ukraine announces neutralization of a Russian colonel involved in attacks in the northeast of Kharkov region
On July 26, the military group “Hortea” confirmed the elimination of Colonel Lebedev, commander of the 83rd motor infantry regiment of Division 69 of the Russian Army. He was responsible for coordinating offensive actions in the northeast of the Kharkov region, in the direction of Velîkîi Burluk. The information was transmitted through the official telegram channel of the Hortea unit.

On the same day, the General Staff of the Ukrainian army has estimated Russia's losses within the last 24 hours at about 1,080 military. According to official data, the total victims (dead and injured) reaches the figure of over 1. 048,330 Russian soldiers. In addition, the publication The Economist recently estimated a loss of about 31,000 Russian fighters during the summer offensive started on May 1 – the most intense phase of conflict.
On the other hand, the head of the Estonia Military Police, Toomas Veli, said that, in relation to the occupied area, the human losses of Russia are already exceeding those in the Soviet-Finnish war (1939-1940).
Without signs of Russian progress
President Volodimir Zelenski reaffirmed the position of the Kiev authorities: Russia did not obtain significant progress on the front. “They don't advance,” he said. At the same time, the supreme commander of the armed forces, Oleksandr Syrskî, reported that Ukrainian sabotage groups have entered five to seven times in the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetk region.
Counter -offensive visible in three regions
According to the Institute for War Study (ISW), Ukraine has registered local advances in three regions: Sumî, Kharkov and Donbas.
-In the Sumî area, the localities Kindratîvka, Vărăcine, Sadkî and Iunakivka returned under Ukrainian control.
-In the Kharkov region, recent geolocalizations signal movements of Ukrainian units to Velîkîi Burluk and Hatne, to the northeast.
-In the Lugansk-Donbas sector, Kiev's troops penetrated the proximity of Serabriani Forest, south of Dîbrova, progress in an intensely challenged area.
-Moreover, the Russian forces try to surround the city of Kupiansk from the northwest, with the obvious purpose of interrupting the withdrawal routes of the Ukrainian army.
In the Donetk region, intense fights are recorded in the directions of Sork, Toreațk and Novopavlivka. In the Serabriani forest, the Russians fluttered, a sign that they conquered fragments from the targeted territories.
Major clashes take place around the villages of Ceasovîi again, Bila Hora and Predtecine, and in the direction of Pokrovsk -Russian and the infiltration of Russian troops to the south is observed.
In the Novosilka -Malivka area, they are signals of hostile movements.
In Zaporojie, the Russians continued the attacks around the villages Novopokrivka, Stepnohirsk, Plavni and Kamianske, but without concrete results. In the directions of Herson and Hulîaipole, the fight is maintained at the tactical level, without clear progress from any camp.
Strategically, the loss of a Russian commander of higher degree and the successful counter -offensives of the Ukrainians in three different regions indicate a constantly changing front dynamic. While Russian forces apply pressure, Ukraine seems to effectively manage the response to multiple levels-offensive and defensive-in a wear battle.
