In the first match of the stage, CSA Steaua prevailed in Ghencea, in a game played in front of an audience of several hundred people. The “military” made an excellent first half, in which the Spanish striker Rubio managed a “double” in the 24th and 40th minutes, so the home team entered the cabins with a two-goal advantage.
In the second half, in the 81st minute, Emilian Pacionel, a former player for both Oprița and FCSB, converted a shot from 11 meters with emotions and reduced the difference. Six minutes later, Şoptirean, Slatina's defender, was sent off after an intervention in which he stopped a clear scoring opportunity, leaving his team outnumbered.
Thanks to this success, CSA Steaua climbed to 7th place, with 33 points, tied with the last play-off position, but with one more match played. Like FCSB in the Super League, the “military” risk missing out on access to the play-offs. On the other hand, CSM Slatina occupies the 14th place, with 23 points, and the chances of the formation prepared by Ferfelea to catch the play-off are non-existent.
