Two members of an organized crime group will go to prison for creating underground casinos in Krasnoyarsk and Zheleznogorsk

Two members of a criminal group that created a large network of underground casinos in Krasnoyarsk and Zheleznogorsk have been sentenced. This was reported to the regional prosecutor's office.

Let us remind you that earlier it became known that in 2016 two friends decided to organize an underground gambling business in Krasnoyarsk and Zheleznogorsk. They purchased equipment, hired a team of 44 people and rented eight premises. A technical specialist connected computers to a server in Holland, set up the program and, on the instructions of the organizers, could change the winning percentage.

From 2016 to 2020, the network brought the organizers more than 83.4 million rubles of illegal income. In May 2020, the activities were stopped by security forces.

The programmer made a deal with the investigation and testified against the organizers, thanks to which it was possible to identify and detain all participants. Previously, the court had already sent 20 of the 42 accomplices to jail. Two defendants have been hiding from the investigation since 2021 and were caught only in 2024.

They did not admit guilt in court. One called himself a program developer for online casinos, the second called himself a simple operator in one of the branches in Zheleznogorsk. However, the court found them guilty under Part 3 of Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization and conduct of gambling outside the gambling zone, committed by an organized group on an especially large scale). One was sentenced to three years in a general regime colony, the other – eight years in a strict regime colony.

The case against the organizers of the criminal group is pending in court.
