At the Reindeer Herder Day in Salekhard on March 21 and 22, the national cuisine competition “Stroganina” will be held. Families who preserve the culinary traditions of Yamal will take part in it, reports Sever-Press.

Participants will not only have to prepare a dish, but also demonstrate the traditions of northern cuisine – from the recipe to the presentation with national decor. The jury will evaluate originality, appearance and culinary skill.
On the first day, the contestants will compete in preparing venison slices. In the second, they will demonstrate the skills of cutting northern fish and preparing dishes from it.
The winners will receive cash prizes: 25 thousand rubles for first place, 15 thousand for second place and 10 thousand for third place. All participants will receive memorable souvenirs.
