The total amount of contributions to BFG bank funds in 2026 will be PLN 2,725 million, 0.7%. more than in 2025 – BFG said in a press release.
In accordance with the decision of the BFG Council, in 2026 the Fund will not collect contributions to the bank guarantee fund, and the contribution to the bank resolution fund will amount to PLN 2,725 million.
The total burden on the banking sector will increase by PLN 19 million (0.7%) compared to 2025.
It was indicated that the decision of the BFG Council will allow to avoid a sudden increase in contributions in 2027, when the return to collecting contributions to the bank guarantee fund is expected.
It was reported that the profits generated by the BFG, including approximately PLN 1,385 million in 2025, significantly reduce the amount of contributions collected.
At the end of 2025, the target level of 1.6% was exceeded. the amount of funds guaranteed in banks, which results in the lack of contributions to the banks' guarantee fund. This is largely due to the Fund's high profitability. However, the BFG Council decided that the continued favorable profitability of the banking sector in Poland is the right moment to accelerate the reconstruction of the bank resolution fund. Hence the decision that the total amount of contributions should not be lower than last year – said the president of BFG, Maciej Szczęsny, quoted in the press release.
In the case of the banking sector, the minimum and target levels as well as the deadlines for achieving them for the banks' guarantee fund are at the minimum level – 0.8%. guaranteed funds, and at the target level – 1.6 percent. guaranteed funds (maintaining the level).
In turn, in the case of the bank resolution fund, the minimum level is 1.0%. guaranteed funds – in 2028, and the target level – 1.2%. guaranteed funds – until December 31, 2034
As at the end of 2025, the level of security for the funds of the deposit guarantee system in banks was 1.6005%. guaranteed funds, and the bank resolution fund 0.8102 percent. guaranteed funds. These are levels calculated on the basis of preliminary data on the levels of BFG funds before the audit of the BFG financial statements by an audit firm. The BGF presents the audited data in the Annual Report, published in the third quarter of the year.
Contributions to cash funds in 2026 will amount to a total of PLN 0.02 million.
In the case of the SKOK sector, contributions to the credit union guarantee fund in 2026 will not be collected, and contributions to the resolution fund will amount to PLN 20,000. zloty. (PAP Business)
