Two colleagues at a high school in Vaslui died of cancer a few months apart. The heartbreaking message of the bereaved families
A shocking news mourned the community of Vaslui, after two exceptional students from the same class of the “Mihail Kogălniceanu” Theoretical High School (LMK) lost their battle with a relentless disease. David Enache, a young man considered a little mathematical genius, died in Dragobete itself, at the age of only 19. His fate seems indigo with that of his fellow banker and sufferer, David Vrabie, who left us last Christmas Eve.

David Enache was diagnosed with cancer in his freshman year of high school. Although he underwent surgery that appeared to have resolved the problem, the disease later recurred. Due to his health, the young man could not take the Baccalaureate exam in the summer session of 2025 and did not get to follow his dream of becoming a student, reports the local publication Vremea Nouă.
While his peers started college, David continued his treatments, with his parents also turning to clinics abroad for advanced medical solutions. Unfortunately, his body failed on the very day of Dragobete.
The family's heartbreaking message
The announcement of the death was made by the young man's mother, Oana Maria Enache, who posted a message inviting those who knew her son to pay their last respects. In her text, she describes the deep trauma a family goes through when they lose a child: “There are pains that do not heal with the passage of time, but only deepen in silence. When a child leaves, not only a person leaves, a part of the remaining soul leaves. There remains a lack that hurts every morning and presses every evening. Nothing sounds the same, nothing tastes the same. People's words, however well-intentioned, strike a heart closed in pain. No caress reaches the end anymore, because the wound is not on the outside, but inside, deep, where no one can see”wrote the young man's mother.
The funeral service will take place on Friday: “Daviduț is laid to rest at the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Vaslui and is waiting for you to lead him on his last journey, Friday, February 27, starting at 1:00 p.m.“.
A painful coincidence for Class XII A
The fate of the two classmates, both named David, was marked by the same trials. David Vrabie, friend and colleague of David Enache since kindergarten, died on Christmas Eve, in December 2024. Upon learning the news of the second death, David Vrabie's father sent a message of condolences marked by stupor in the face of this tragic coincidence: “David, may God rest in peace! I wonder and can't find an answer: why did you and our David, two beautiful and smart children, leave us? I have no more words, maybe God wanted it that way. You were classmates and at LMK in the same class. What a cruel fate! I don't know what else to say… ETERNAL REST!”he transmitted.
The death of the two teenagers is a severe blow to their colleagues at LMK, who witnessed their suffering during their high school years.
