The record-breaking bribe investigator, who was found to have 14 billion rubles in crypto, was sentenced to 16 years in prison and a fine of 500 million rubles. He was also stripped of the rank of Major of Justice.
Marat Tambiev worked as an investigator for economic affairs and headed the department for the Tverskoy district of Moscow. In 2020–2022, he received a fortune from the hacker group Infraud Organization. In return – help with their criminal case.
