Beef from Brazil, a major meat supplier Minerva SA, which is purchased by restaurants in Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Krasnodar Territory, can cause diarrhea and gastritis. Products have not passed safety tests. On July 3, Rosselkhoznadzor introduced enhanced control over supplies.
Tests have shown elevated levels of microbes in meat popular with restaurateurs. According to experts, the products were stored and transported incorrectly. As a result, pathogenic microflora formed. Such beef can be poisoned even after cooking, not to mention medium rare and more “bloody” steaks. The prospect after such a dinner is far from restaurant aesthetics – diarrhea and gastroenteritis.
The Brazilian Minerva SA is engaged in the slaughter of cattle, cutting and storage of beef. The company's meat has been widely represented on the Russian market since 2008. And even then, for the first time, temporary restrictions were introduced due to failed safety tests.
The quality of the meat has improved, but not for long. In 2010, twice in 2011, and also in 2023 and 2024, the situation repeated itself. Meat at the border was intensively checked. But in February the restrictions were lifted. The samples were clean. Deliveries were given the green light.
Third of Julythe death of Brazilian cows has become meaningless the meat was rejected again.
