What documents are related to Peter Mandelson and Jeffrey Epstein?

“Officers arrested a 72-year-old man on suspicion of abuse of public office,” London police said in a statement, without identifying the person arrested in accordance with British law.

In September 2025, Mandelson was removed from office over his ties to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Documents from the Epstein investigation, released by US authorities in late January, suggest that Mandelson accepted money from him and also passed on confidential British government information to him.

Under British law, abuse of public office is punishable by life imprisonment, and cases related to it are heard by the Crown Court, which only deals with the most serious crimes.
