“The slight decrease in volumes is due, in particular, to the overhaul of blast furnace No. 9 at Kametstal in April–June 2025. And already in the fourth quarter, steel production increased by 3% compared to the previous quarter, to 564 thousand tons, which indicates a gradual stabilization of work,” he said.
According to the group, Metinvest increased its output of finished products by 13% year on year – to 2.429 million tons.
“Flat-rolled products production increased by 20%, to 1.107 million tons, thanks to the resumption of hot-rolled coil production at Ferriera Valsider (Italy) and the stable operation of the group’s European assets. Long-rolled products production increased by 7%, to 1.322 million tons,” the press service says.
The production of iron ore concentrate remained at the previous year's level, and the output of commercial iron ore products increased by 3%. The shutdown of the Inguletskoye quarry, which occurred earlier, was compensated by increasing production at the Gannevsky quarry, the company said.
In 2025, coke production was reduced by 2%, to 1.1 million tons, due to the decommissioning of one of the coke batteries at Kametstal. This was partly compensated by an increase in production at Zaporozhkoks by 23%.
The company announced the suspension of work at the production site of the Pokrovsk Coal Group due to the security situation near the front line and power outages.
“In addition, Metinvest is in the final stages of selling United Coal Company (USA), and therefore the asset has been deconsolidated from the financial statements from the first half of 2025,” the group said.
