On February 23, the author of the Ukrainian Instagram blog about field work “All Growth” talked about the features of the legendary pepper variety “Elephant’s Ear”, which always produces a high yield of fleshy and juicy fruits of gigantic size.
According to gardeners, this variety is suitable for those who want to grow large-fruited sweet peppers with a rich taste. The variety owes its name to the fact that the fruits grow so large that they resemble elephant ears.
The publication notes that pepper of this variety is considered the king of vegetable caviar due to its dense pulp 8–9 mm thick with a high content of sugars. After baking, the pepper acquires an incredible aroma, and the skin is easily removed in one motion.
Main advantages of the variety
- The average fruit weight is 150–250 g. With good care, individual fruits can reach 400–450 g.
- When ripe, the color of the fruit changes from dark green to cherry.
- The variety is characterized by good tolerance to stressful conditions. The plant has a strong stem that can support the weight of large fruits.
Feeding recommendations
During the period of fruit set, the plant needs potassium and phosphorus – thanks to balanced feeding, the peppers will grow large and beautiful.
