In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, visitors to the Maslenitsa celebration in Sukhobuzimsky were outraged by the cruel treatment of reindeer.

According to eyewitnesses, the animal was harnessed to a sleigh and forced to give people rides. At the same time, the deer itself was exhausted and could barely move.

The police began an investigation into this fact.

“The duty department of the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Emelyanovsky” received a message about the fact of cruel treatment of a deer at an event dedicated to Maslenitsa. Police officers are currently conducting an investigation into this matter. “All the circumstances of the incident and the persons involved in the incident are being established,” the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region reported.

The regional Minister of Culture Arkady Zinov also commented on the situation. He thanked the concerned citizens and noted that he keeps the situation under personal control.

“I am grateful to concerned citizens for drawing public attention to this and trying to stop the abuse of a defenseless creature. But, unfortunately, there were those who encouraged this situation with rubles and rode the poor animal. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that all trade at the festival is regulated by the Procedure approved by the administration of the municipal district. But among the admitted festival participants who received permission to trade and provide services, there was not a single entrepreneur with a deer. I personally keep the situation under control. And I will inform you about its resolution. I am convinced that all those responsible must answer for what happened within the framework of the law,” the minister wrote on his social networks.
