New details from the case of prostitution in erotic massage parlors in Bucharest, in which Cotabiță's widow is also involved
The nine alleged pimps would have made it easier for approximately 50 young women to prostitute themselves in erotic massage salons in Sector 5 of the Capital, under apparent legality. During the searches, sums of money worth 175,000 euros were found, on which precautionary measures will be ordered.

The prosecutor's office attached to the Bucharest District Court 5 informed, on Monday, that on February 21, the case prosecutor ordered the initiation of the criminal action against nine defendants, for pimping in a continuous form, News writes.
Against five of them, during Sunday, the prosecutor ordered the taking of the measure of judicial control, for a duration of 60 days, and in the case of two of the defendants, he notified the judge of rights and freedoms from the District Court of Bucharest 5 with a proposal for the preventive arrest of two defendants and a proposal to place the other two under house arrest, for a duration of 30 days, proposals accepted by court.
According to the prosecutors, between April 9, 2025 and February 17, 2026, the defendants facilitated the practice of prostitution by approximately 50 injured persons in two locations in sector 5 of the Capital, obtaining patrimonial benefits from these activities, the provision of sexual services being hidden under the legal umbrella of simple erotic massage activities, as employees of commercial companies owned by one of the defendants.
The Prosecutor's Office of the District 5 Court mentions that as a result of the searches, sums of money in the amount of approximately 175,000 euros were recovered, on which precautionary measures will be taken.
The investigations are being continued by the 5th District Police – Criminal Investigation Service, under the supervision of the case prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the 5th District Court of Bucharest.
According to “Adevărul” sources, it is about the VIP Zone salons on Mihail Kogălniceanu Boulevard and Mistic Masaj on Benjamin Franklin Street. Also according to the sources, the network would have been led by an 80-year-old woman, who is in front of the judges.
Also, one of the people placed under house arrest is Alina Cotabiță, the widow of Gabriel Cotabiță. Apparently she was handling the online side, promoting the girls and the salon on websites and social media. The main matron is 80 years old.
