An aircraft of the HiSky company, on the route Bucharest – Hurghada (Egypt), signaled the activation of a pressurization sensor in the cabin. The aircraft commander decided to return to “Henri Coandă” International Airport. There are 180 passengers and 6 crew members on board.
The announcement was made on Facebook by the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, who says that, according to standard safety procedures, the pilot decided to return to “Henri Coandă” Airport, and currently the aircraft is flying over the area to reduce weight and prepare in optimal conditions for landing. The estimated duration of this maneuver is approximately one hour, according to the cited source.
Rogobete specified that the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Bucharest-Ilfov (ISU BIF) was notified and the preventive intervention plan at the airport level was activated. The following are mobilized at the scene: 10 fire trucks, 1 rescue truck, rescue crews, 4 SMURD crews, 1 mobile intensive care unit (ICU) and 2 SABIF ambulances.
“The measures are strictly preventive, according to the applicable protocol in such situations, to ensure a quick response in the event of a medical or technical need,” says Rogobete.
