The MAE strongly recommends all Romanian citizens in Iran to leave the territory of this country immediately, by any existing safe route. According to the information of the MAE, at this moment there are still commercial flights that allow the exit from Iran, according to an official statement of the institution.
At the same time, Romanians who have planned trips to Iran in the coming period are advised to cancel them urgently.
The Ministry also specifies that Romanian citizens in Iranian territory are asked to announce their presence at the Romanian Embassy in Tehran, at the emergency phone number +98 21 77647570, which can only be called through the GSM network, calling it through messaging applications being impossible due to the lack of internet access.
If this number cannot be contacted, Romanians can alternatively call +98 21 77539041, the calls being redirected to the Center for Contact and Support of Romanian Citizens Abroad (CCSCRS), where they are answered by operators on a permanent basis.
Major tensions in the East, Trump could attack Iran in the next 24 hours
There are major tensions in the East. A US military intervention in Iran looks increasingly likely and could happen within the next 24 hours, Western officials have warned, amid rapidly escalating tensions. US, European and Israeli sources say preparations are underway for possible action, while Washington has begun evacuating personnel from a major military base in the region.
Tensions are rising as the leadership in Tehran tries to suppress what is described as the worst internal uprising in the history of the Islamic Republic. Iranian authorities are also trying to deter Donald Trump's repeated threats of possible intervention in support of anti-government protesters.
