A CURS survey published on Sunday credits the PSD in first place in the voting intentions of the citizens of Bucharest for the local elections, followed by AUR at two percent.

  • The research was carried out on a sample of 1,069 respondents aged 18 and over, from Bucharest. The sample is probabilistic, multistage and stratified, with a maximum margin of error of ±3% at the 95% confidence level.
  • Data was collected from February 12–20, 2026.
  • The CURS polling institute is owned by Iosif Buble.

Who would the citizens of Bucharest vote with if there were local elections next Sunday?

In the event of the organization of local elections next Sunday, the Social Democratic Party would obtain 22% of the votes of the citizens of Bucharest, followed by the Alliance for Romanian Unity, with 20%. The National Liberal Party is rated with 18%, and the Save Romania Union with 17%.

SENS would get 5%, SOS Romania 5%, the Nationalist Party Reformarea României (Piedone) 4%, and the Young People's Party and REPER 3%.

The direction in which Bucharest is heading

Asked in which direction they think the Capital is heading, 65% of Bucharest residents think the city is heading in the wrong direction, while 28% think the direction is good, and 7% are undecided.

The main problems of Bucharest

When asked what is the main problem that should be solved as a priority by the General City Hall, the citizens of Bucharest point first to traffic and congestion, mentioned by 24% of the respondents.

Taxes and fees follow, with 16%, and the issue of hot water and heating, with 14%. Cleanliness and sanitation, as well as the health system are each mentioned by 10% of respondents, and street infrastructure by 8%. Pollution is indicated by 7% and standard of living by 6%.

CURS, the company of a journalist married to a deputy

The Center for Urban and Regional Sociology (CURS) was founded in 1996 and is fully owned by former journalist Iosif Buble. He is also the owner of Online Research SRL, which also deals with polling activities, writes the Europa Liberă website.

In 2022, CURS had a turnover of almost one million euros and a profit of approximately 800,000 euros. CURS obtained part of the revenues and contracts with the state, the publication also writes.

Iosif Buble was a journalist at Antena 3 and has, in addition to public opinion polling institutes, the website www.știripesurse.ro.

Iosif Buble is married to Diana Tușa, current PSD deputy, former PNL parliamentarian.

The elections of December 7, 2024 for the Capital City Hall were won by the PNL candidate Ciprian Ciucu, with over 36% of the votes. The PSD candidate, Daniel Băluță, finished in 3rd place, with 20.5% of the votes, being surpassed by Anca Alexandrescu, supported by AUR, who obtained more than 8,400 votes, with a score of 21.94%.

In the survey published by CURS and Avangarde two days before the elections in Bucharest, PSD candidate Daniel Băluță was rated with 27%, Ciprian Ciucu from PNL – 24%, and Cătălin Drula from USR was credited with 21%.
