The editors of the Ukrainian culinary website Shuba have published a recipe for cooking chicken drumsticks.
“If you're looking for a hearty and simple chicken dish recipe, this is the option for you. Fried chicken drumsticks are juicy on the inside and golden brown on the outside, and the creamy mushroom sauce in which they are stewed gives them a rich flavor,” the website says.
Ingredients:
- six chicken drumsticks;
- salt and pepper to taste;
- 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;
- bulb;
- three cloves of garlic;
- 250 g champignons;
- 200 ml cream;
- 100 ml chicken broth;
- 100 g spinach;
- 1 tsp. mustard;
- two stalks of parsley.
Preparation
- Wash and dry the chicken drumsticks. Season with salt and pepper on all sides.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan. Add the drumsticks and fry for 8-10 minutes, turning. Transfer to a plate.
- Peel the onion and cut into small cubes. Peel the garlic and chop. Cut the mushrooms into slices.
- In the same pan, fry the onion for three to four minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds. Add the mushrooms and cook for five to seven minutes until the liquid has evaporated.
- Pour in the broth and cream. Add mustard and nutmeg. Stir and bring to a light boil.
- Return the chicken drumsticks to the pan. Cover and cook over low heat for 20–25 minutes from the point of boiling, until the meat is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Add the spinach to the sauce and cook for two to three minutes until the leaves have wilted. Sprinkle with parsley before serving.
