
“Another 45 Ukrainians returned from the temporarily occupied territory, as well as from the territories of the Russian Federation and Belarus. For many of them, this was the only way to avoid the danger associated with the restriction of rights, insufficient access to medical care, pressure and risk to life from the occupation administrations,” he wrote.
According to the Ombudsman, the vast majority of returned Ukrainians are older people, the oldest woman is 93 years old.
“Among the evacuated are people who needed special conditions for safe movement: low -mobility and seriously ill citizens (they did not have physical ability to leave on their own. 10 people needed emergency treatment, had severe chronic diseases); for 23 people, an evacuation was organized with the involvement of specialized transport and medical support,” Lubinets explained.
He noted that among the saved Ukrainians were those who needed legal support and accompaniment due to the loss of personal documents and the lack of the opportunity to independently cross the border.
“I note that some of the Ukrainians who are already in the controlled territory of Ukraine were persecuted by the occupation administrations. In particular, the family whose father was abducted by the invaders and tortured, as a result of which he died. That is why the departure from the systemic pressure, the threat to the life and health of civilian,” Lubinets emphasized.
