The Romanian athlete Julia Sauter, debutant in the Olympic competitions, competed on Thursday evening in the individual figure skating event of the Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina. She finished in 17th place, the best performance in the Olympic history of Romanian women's figure skating.
After achieving a personal best of 63.13 points in the short program, two days ago, Julia Sauter also performed a flawless exercise in the free program, reports Eurosport Romania, specifying that the representative of our country obtained 127.8 points for this evolution, with a total of 190.3 points.

Julia Sauter (28 years old) also surpassed her career-best cumulative score of 16 points.
The athlete born in Germany became a citizen of Romania in October 2025.

The Olympic title in the women's individual event in the figure skating competition was won on Thursday evening by the American Alysa Liu, aged 20, with a total of 226.79 points, writes News.ro.
The Japanese Kaori Sakamoto (25 years old) climbed to the second step of the podium – 224.90, and the bronze was obtained, at only 17 years old, also by a Japanese woman, Ami Nakai (219.16).
