The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) wrote that a metallurgical plant would be built in the Jewish Autonomous Region:

“According to the latest information available in the Regional Planning Office, it has finally been clarified that the metallurgical plant, part of the Khingan-Bureya Combine, will be built on the territory of the Jewish Autonomous Region. The production base for the plant is iron ore deposits in the taiga, 7 kilometers from Kimkan station, near the Sutara River and the Talyo Spring.”

The same newspaper briefly covered the main news of the region: “20 thousand rubles have been allocated for the organization of greenhouses and a nursery – the basis for greening the city.

To deliver goods to fishing collective farms and transport fish, two motor boats will ply along Bira.

The turnover of the Regional Food Store for 1935 was approved at 10 million rubles. Regional food trade will receive goods directly from industrial bases in the West. Confectionery, wine, dried fruits, vegetable oil, pasta and other goods have already been shipped.

The district committee, city party committee, and primary party organizations were asked to improve the political education of Komsomol members and youth, to provide them with assistance in studying the economics of enterprises, collective farms, and MTS.

February 20, 1946

The Birobidzhan Star newspaper reported that the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR discussed measures to strengthen and further develop agriculture in the Jewish Autonomous Region.

February 20, 1949

A regional party meeting of communist migrants who arrived in the Jewish Autonomous Region in 1947-1949 was held. The requirements of the USSR Council of Ministers for measures for the further development of the national economy and culture of the Jewish Autonomous Region and the tasks of the settlers were discussed.

The meeting adopted a detailed resolution that obligated all communist settlers to take an active part in the implementation of government decree, in the struggle for the further development of the economy and culture of the Jewish Autonomous Region and the early completion of the national economic plans of 1949.

February 20, 1979

The newspaper “Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda” wrote that the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR and the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions decided to recognize the winners and award the Challenge Red Banners of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR and the All-Russian Central Council of Trade Unions for achieving the highest results in the All-Russian Socialist Competition for increasing production efficiency and quality of work, the successful implementation of the economic and social development plan for 1978, the Ungunsky state farm.
