More than 50 scantily clad students found in unsanitary basement during alleged initiation ritual

Police found more than 50 half-naked and blindfolded members of a fraternity sitting in a filthy basement during an alleged initiation ritual.

University of Iowa police officers and emergency crews responded to a fire alarm at the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity on the night of November 15, 2024.
Footage shows officers ordering members of the fraternity to evacuate the area after seeing them sitting silently in the dark basement, The Independent writes.
Harassment is a misdemeanor in Iowa, defined as any reckless or dangerous act that endangers the health and safety of a student for initiation or admission to a college organization. It is illegal in 44 states.
Following the incident, the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity was suspended for four years.
