Analysts describe the agreement as a role-sharing in which Chinese space assets support Iran's regional strike capabilities, more vividly portraying the cooperation as “eyes and fists.”
China's satellite fleet of more than 500 operational military and civilian satellites – but dual-use – is the backbone of this intelligence-sharing structure. The data obtained from them is sent to Iranian command structures, which allows the regime in Tehran to monitor deployment of US military forces in the Indian Ocean, the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf.

What does the name 'eyes and fist' mean in the context of China's cooperation with Iran?
What ships did the Chinese People's Liberation Army send to the Persian Gulf?
Why does China support Iran in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative?
Earlier, China shared its BeiDou satellite navigation system with Iran's armed forces after Tehran abandoned the US GPS system, which proved to be a nuisance because the US easily jammed it during last year's Iran-Israel conflict, effectively weakening Iran's air defenses.

Additionally, the Navy of the People's Liberation Army sent to the waters of the Persian Gulf, considered the most powerful destroyers in the world, 055 and its most advanced spy ship, Liaowang-1. The ship is equipped with devices for monitoring military satellites, tracking missile launches, and also serves as a mobile command and control center for maritime operations.
Reports of its deployment in waters where the United States has amassed its massive fleet of warships have fueled speculation that Liaowang-1 was in the region to monitor the movements of U.S. navies and other Western ships and pass intelligence information to Iran.
For Beijing, this support is a cold strategic calculation. ANDran is an essential element of the Belt and Road Initiative and one of the main energy suppliers for Beijing, alongside Russia. For this reason, China cannot allow the Iranian regime to fall and the West to take control of the country.
