Rapid Prepares for Summer Training Camp in Austria with Friendly Matches

Rapid Bucharest is set to leave for its summer training camp in Bad Leonfelden, Austria, at the beginning of next week. Under the guidance of coach Daniel Pancu, the team will continue its preparations for the upcoming season. During this 12-day camp, Rapid has scheduled four friendly matches.

Having reunited for the new season, Rapid recently played an internal friendly against CS Afumați, a second-division team, achieving a decisive victory with a score of 9-2. Starting June 29, the players will centralize their training in Austria.

On Sunday, the team announced its schedule for the friendly matches, which include strong opponents. The first match is against Dinamo Kiev, who will face Universitatea Cluj in the first preliminary round of the Europa League.

  • Dinamo Kiev, finishing 4th in their season but secured a spot in the Europa League by winning the Cup.
  • Rapid Vienna, who placed 5th in the Austrian Bundesliga.
  • FC Kosice, ranking 8th in the Slovakian top league.
  • Slovan Liberec, who ended last season in 6th place in the Czech league.

The Rapid squad present for the reunion includes players such as Adrian Briciu, Bogdan Ungureanu, Robert Bădescu, and Cristian Ignat, among others. The team is expected to return to Romania on July 10 in preparation for the new season, which will kick off at home against newly-promoted Sepsi over the weekend of July 18-19.
