An airport in Florida will change its name. In honor of Donald Trump

According to CNN, legislation to change the name of this South Florida airport passed in the state Senate on Thursday by a vote of 25 to 11.
All Democrats were against. Two days earlier, the bill was passed by the Florida House of Representatives by a vote of 81 to 30.
Currently, the bill awaits the signature of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and the name change still requires approval from the Federal Aviation Administration. According to its provisions, the new markings would come into force at the beginning of July.
“This decision is consistent with Trump's actions so far, who has previously given his name to numerous objects – buildings and government initiatives, which is unusual for a sitting president,” we read in CNN.
Trump also proposed renaming the international airport in his honor Dulles Airport in Washington and Penn Station in New York.

Florida's Republican leaders say they want to name the airport after Trump because he was the first president to declare Florida his permanent home.
– This is the President's hometown, he lives only five miles from the airport – said the co-author of the project, Republican lawmaker Meg Weinberger, quoted by CNN.

Will Trump profit? Here are the possible names
Even before Thursday's vote, some Democrats raised concerns that the Trump family could profit from a possible name change.
They have increased especially since last week a private company handling licenses and trademarks of the Trump Organization has submitted appropriate applications.
The registered marks included, among others: “Donald J. Trump International Airport”, “President Donald J. Trump International Airport” and “DJT”. This last character could be a potential airport code.
A spokesman for the Trump Organization said Trump and his family would not collect any fees or royalties for changing the airport's name, and the text of the bill passed by the House clearly states that the new signage will not incur any costs.
