More than 33 thousand illegal suspensions of communication lines on power lines were revealed by power engineers in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

Specialists of the branch of Rosseti Siberia – Krasnoyarskenergo continue large-scale work to identify illegal fiber-optic communication lines (FOCL), which Internet providers unauthorizedly place on power transmission line supports.

At the end of 2025, Krasnoyarsk power engineers discovered more than 33 thousand power transmission line poles with unauthorized fiber-optic cable suspensions. Of these, about 37% were located on the territory of Achinsky, Bogotolsky, Nazarovsky, Uzhursky, Sharypovsky municipal districts.

“Illegal installation of communication lines on power transmission towers is dangerous. Carrying out such work without a contract and without agreement with the electric grid company puts the life and health of employees who install fiber-optic lines at risk. “This does not take into account the additional load on the supports, which can lead to technological disruptions and threaten the stable power supply to consumers,” the energy sector warns.

Also, third-party equipment complicates scheduled maintenance and repair of energy facilities. Therefore, illegally placed fiber optic communication lines can be dismantled.
