I did this exercise for 21 days – my back became straight, my shoulders dropped: high-quality “body tuning” for all ages

Many people still think that for beautiful posture you need complex exercise machines or hours in the gym. In fact, the key to a straight back is not the load, but the activation of the deep muscles between the shoulder blades. Without this, even the most powerful exercises give a temporary effect.

The problem of “tight” shoulders, “sagging” chest and a feeling of heaviness in the upper back is most often associated not with weakness, but with the fact that the rhomboids and lower trapezius muscles are simply “turned off”. They don't work while sitting at a computer, but they can be “turned on” without effort or equipment.

All it takes is one simple movement using a regular towel. It helps to use the right muscles correctly, without overloading the neck and shoulders.

How to do:

  • Take a bath towel and roll it into a tight rope about 50 cm long.
  • Stand straight, feet hip-width apart, knees slightly bent.
  • Hold the towel by the ends with your arms outstretched in front of you at chest level.
  • As you inhale, slowly raise your arms up, maintaining tension in the towel.
  • As you exhale, smoothly spread your arms to the sides, slightly moving your shoulder blades back and down, as if you were hugging a large tree. Feel the tension between your shoulder blades.
  • Return to the starting position.
  • Repeat 8-10 times. Perform 2 approaches.

Perform this exercise in the morning or evening, preferably in front of a mirror, to ensure that your shoulders do not rise towards your ears. After just 7–10 days, you will notice that your breathing has become freer and your gaze is more confident. After 21 days, your back will become visually straighter, your shoulders will naturally drop, and your clothes will fit neater.

This method does not stretch the ligaments or create external pressure. It gently “turns on” the muscles, which themselves form correct posture from the inside. At the same time, it relieves tension after a day behind the screen and improves blood circulation in the cervicothoracic region.

If you have chronic problems with the spine, you should consult your doctor before starting practice. But for most people, this movement is safe, accessible and actually works.
