No plane is landing or taking off at Henri Coandă International Airport on Wednesday morning, according to flight data and a representative of the Bucharest National Airport Company (CNAB).

“For now it is not possible to take off and land”, said Teo Postelnicu, representative of CNAB, at around 09:00 in an intervention on Digi24

“Since 6 o'clock nothing has taken off, for their safety, passengers have to wait a little longer for everything to be safe,” he said.

“We hope that around 10 o'clock the weather will improve and aircraft can take off. (…) We hope that after 10:00-10:30 the traffic will normalize”, anticipated Postelnicu.

He explained that the situation will also affect flights scheduled later in the day: “There are flights that leave late, they will return late.”

At the Henri Coandă airport, snow removal equipment is used:

The first flights on February 18, 2026 were supposed to take off from Bucharest airports as early as 5:00 a.m., but by 07:45 a.m. no plane had taken off from the Romanian capital, according to the specialized publication Boarding Pass.

“Also, landings are also affected, several flights destined for Bucharest have landed at other airports in the region or returned to the airport of origin. Also, the delays caused by the heavy snowfall will extend and will probably affect many flights in the days to come,” notes the quoted source.

Numerous flights that were supposed to arrive at Otopeni were cancelled, according to the information on bucharestairports.ro:

The departures table is also full of delays and cancellations on Wednesday morning:
