At the Krasnoyarsk Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin, rehearsals for the premiere play “Office Romance” are taking place.
The basis of the performance was the play “Colleagues” by Eldar Ryazanov and Emil Braginsky, which was written in 1971. But most people know her thanks to the legendary film “Office Romance” with Alisa Freindlikh and Andrei Myagkov. However, the director of the play Timur Nasirov and the actors of the Krasnoyarsk Drama Theater do not compete with the film.
According to Honored Cultural Worker of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Danil Konovalov, his Novoseltsev will be completely different.
“You need to throw away everything that came before and try to come up with your own Novoseltsev, thanks to the material that the author has. Is it possible to copy and is it necessary to copy what was in the film? Well, most likely not, because the viewer will probably be interested in seeing the new Novoselets. They've already seen that one. That is, everything was there except me, so I’ll come up with my new resident. If something is similar, then all coincidences are random,” the actor noted.
Honored Artist of the Region Olga Belobrova, who plays the role of Lyudmila Kalugina-Mymra, admitted that comparisons with Alice Freundlich inevitable, but for her the main thing is to present the performance with dignity. And in her heroine Olga, First of all, I found a strong woman who focused on herself and forgot about the people around her.
“My MHaving concentrated on her work, she forgot that she was working among people. AND Mymra, first of all, the fact is that you see yourself, you see your task, but you don’t see the people around you. And therefore, a person who has forgotten about everyone goes his own way, it seems to him that this is right, but still a person needs a person. And that’s why “The Snow Queen” will melt in this performance. IN the play contains precisely those monologues that are not in the movie. A this means that our Krasnoyarsk audience will see this play even more deeply. In our performance we can play more than in the film,” the actress emphasized.
Artist Vitaly Kozyrev will embody the image of Yuri Samokhvalov. This character is considered negative. However, as the artist noted, this hero is ambiguous. Therefore, he will try to present Samokhvalov not only as a careerist, but as a person with his own destiny, feelings, but who is trying to achieve his goals.
“We are not trying in any way to outplay our great artists. We want to create the most important thing – a warm and cozy atmosphere on stage. We really want this warmth to transfer into the auditorium. There is a lot of touching, sentimental, homely in our performance,” said Vitaly Kozyrev.
The play will take place in the 1970s, just like the film. But, according to the actors, the play remains relevant thanks to the human questions raised about love and hope.
Let us add that tickets for the premiere performances of the play in February have already been sold out. No Krasnoyarsk viewers have the opportunity to see “Office Romance” in April.
