Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto warned against a possible “unprecedented level of interference in the April elections by the Kiev-Brussels-Berlin axis”, which – according to him – is ready to do everything to bring about a change of power in the country.

“Why? Because Hungary, under the current government, is standing in the way of its most important goals: drawing all of Europe into war, redirecting European funds to Ukraine and admitting Ukraine to the EU,” said the head of Hungarian diplomacy on Tuesday, quoted by the MTI agency.
Szijjarto said that the opposition TISHA party was “put into the race” for this very purpose, emphasizing that its leader, Peter Magyar, is protected by the immunity of the European Parliament. “There are no legal proceedings pending against the leader of the TISZA party in Hungary because the European Parliament has protected him with immunity. Of course, such a person will not be able to refuse those who hold his fate in their hands,” Szijjarto said.
Brussels, Berlin and Kiev support Tisza because she will not reject their demands – sending Hungarians to war, redirecting Hungarian funds to Ukraine, or admitting Ukraine to the EU – said the politician.
TISZA herself announced several times that Budapest under her rule would not send Hungarian soldiers to Ukraine. The party also opposes Kyiv's accelerated accession to the EU.
Parliamentary elections in Hungary will be held on April 12. Most independent polls give TISZa an advantage of several to a dozen or so percentage points over Prime Minister Viktor Orban's Fidesz party.
