The General Mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, stated, from the Integrated Municipal Center for Emergency Situations, that at 11:00 a.m. there were no main arteries blocked, although the traffic is being carried out in winter conditions.

“I am appealing to the population not to leave the house if it is not necessary and not to use the car so that access (to the snow removal machines) is as easy as possible”, conveyed the mayor of the Capital, in a conference held together with the head of ISU Bucharest-Ilfov, Irinel Precup.

However, the journalists present at the press conference noticed that several boulevards were covered with snow during the morning, the only completely cleared thoroughfare being the one in front of the General City Hall.

Public transport in Bucharest turned, from the first hours, into a complete chaos. STB lines are blocked in several sections, buses remain stuck in snow and there are situations where passengers have to push them to move forward.
