Libraries of the Krasnoyarsk Territory can win up to 700 thousand rubles for digital development

17 February 17:02

A competition has been launched in the Krasnoyarsk Territory to support libraries and librarianship specialists in villages, small and medium-sized cities with a population of up to 100 thousand people.

The organizers of the “Library System” were the MTS digital ecosystem, the Russian State Library and the Sistema charitable foundation. The competition is focused on the development of libraries as public spaces where residents can not only borrow books, but also study, master digital services, and participate in cultural and educational projects.

Particular attention is given to areas where the library often remains one of the few centers of attraction for local communities. The total grant fund is 7.9 million rubles. The funds will be distributed among the winners in three categories.

  1. “Innovation Library” — four organizations will receive grants of up to 700 thousand rubles for projects on digitalization of spaces, development of partnerships, educational initiatives, increasing inclusive accessibility and working with socially vulnerable groups.
  2. “Lines of Childhood” (in partnership with the KION Stroki book service) – support for creative projects to popularize reading among children and adolescents. Three winners will receive up to 700 thousand rubles and the opportunity to replenish their funds with modern literature.
  3. “Personal contribution” — 15 librarians who have turned their institutions into centers of social activity will receive bonuses of 200 thousand rubles.

“There are more than 1.1 thousand libraries in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and in rural areas they are not only a place to obtain the necessary literature, but also a platform for educational, creative, cultural and entertainment events, projects and master classes. Digitalization remains one of the most important drivers for the development of cultural institutions operating outside the capital of the region: it not only helps to expand access to literary resources, but also improves the experience of interacting with literature as such, makes the reading process more interesting and more modern,” said Sergey Yegoshin, director of MTS in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

As an example, he cited a collection of ethnic comics with augmented reality elements, “Living Legends of the North,” which the company published last year. It is now available in the libraries of Krasnoyarsk, Norilsk and the village of Snezhnogorsk, as well as in the Stroki online library.

Applications are accepted from February 16 to March 15, 2026 on the project page. The results will be summed up by April 30, and the winners will be announced in May at the All-Russian Library Congress in Yekaterinburg.
