Investments in the arms industry. Prime Minister: Investments in Huta Stalowa Wola alone will amount to over PLN 20 billion

According to the forecasts of the Armament Agency, the value of investments from the SAFE program in Huta Stalowa Wola alone will exceed PLN 20 billion, Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized on Tuesday. We are talking about an investment that will serve the Polish economy, defense and the possibilities of exporting Polish weapons – he added.

Before the government meeting, the Prime Minister referred to the SAFE program. He emphasized that, according to the forecasts of the Armament Agency, the value of investment in Huta Stalowa Wola alone “will exceed PLN 20 billion.” He noted that HSW produces, among others, Krab anti-tank guns, “Borsuk” Infantry Fighting Vehicle and Rak self-propelled mortars.

– The whole world is already interested in buying it from us, so we are talking about a huge investment that will, of course, if the right wing and the president understand what they are attacking, serve the Polish economy, Polish defense, and the possibilities of exporting Polish weapons – said Tusk.

He emphasized, referring to the arms contract during the PiS government, that “the interest rate on a Korean loan is almost twice as high” as in the case of a loan under the EU SAFE program.

Prime Minister to PiS and the president regarding SAFE: no one will ever forgive you for betraying national interests

No one will ever forgive you for such a betrayal of national interests if you really attack Polish interests in such a cynical and broad manner – Prime Minister Donald Tusk said to President Karol Nawrocki, PiS and Confederation in the context of their doubts and objections to the SAFE program.

– I appeal to President Nawrocki and his people, and to the political leaders of PiS and Confederation: think about whether you really want to strike at the very heart of Poland in a situation when there is such a cruel war abroad. No one will forgive you for this and you are really not doing anyone any favors by helping the government implement this program, said the Prime Minister on Tuesday before the government meeting.

He added that “no words are too big here.” – No one will ever forgive you for such a betrayal of national interests if you actually attack these Polish interests in such a cynical and broad way – Tusk said to political opponents. – Nothing can justify an action that may result in a loss of PLN 20 billion for just one plant, which is Huta Stalowa Wola – he added.

The Prime Minister also said that “this attack on Stalowa Wola is even more nasty” because PiS is organizing a program convention in this very city on Saturday.

– It is very difficult for me to understand, I am actually unable to understand, what motivates those who are currently deciding to try to block this money (from the SAFE program) – emphasized Tusk.

– We will find ways anyway, even if they block, even if they veto. And so we will find ways to save at least some of these funds, but it will take time and it will also cost some unnecessary money and nerves – said the Prime Minister. (PAP)
