“Difficult night” before the inhabitants
The Regional Governor of Western Greece, Nektarios Farmakis, in an interview with Skai television, did not hide the seriousness of the situation. “It will be a difficult night,” he warned, emphasizing that the fire is approaching dangerously close to the city. He added that the strong wind significantly hinders firefighters, preventing effective mastery of the element.
Kato Achaia is not the only place affected by a fire. The authorities have already ordered the evacuation of dozens of surrounding villages, which indicates the scale of the disaster.
