A rocket hit the Italian UN force base, UNIFIL, in southern Lebanon on Thursday, the Ansa news agency reported, reporting that no one was injured. As noted, the origin of the bullet is being determined.

The rocket hit the Shama base, the headquarters of the Italian contingent. There were no casualties among Italian soldiers and damage was minor.
The Italian agency emphasized that Defense Minister Guido Crosetto is in contact with the Chief of the Defense Staff, the head of the Italian Joint Operations Command and the commander of the Italian contingent, from whom he receives information regarding the situation and the status of personnel.
Polish soldiers also serve in UNIFIL forces in southern Lebanon. On March 29 and 30, three Indonesian soldiers from the UN forces were killed in this area.
Since the turn of February and March, Israeli attacks on the positions of pro-Iranian Hezbollah in Lebanon and retaliatory actions by this group have been ongoing. The Israeli armed forces are also conducting a ground offensive in southern Lebanon, where they are trying to create a “buffer security zone.” (PAP)
