“This is not a first class plane, this is a train from Africa.” Total surprise for a Romanian in the African “car” that flies by the CFR

The railway infrastructure in Romania is a disaster, and the speed of our trains is getting slower. A well-known Romanian vlogger was in Africa by train and had a surprise of great proportions

Vlogger Adrian, who posts on YouTube under the Daily Sugars account and on Facebook as Adrian Ra, has traveled the world and recently arrived in Kenya. Here, he traveled by train on the Nairobi – Mombasa route, 480 kilometers long. The surprise was total.

The train not only looks much better than the trains in Romania, at least on the inside, but also moves at an average speed that we can't even dream of.

“This is not a first class plane, it is a train from Africa. My dears, let me introduce you to the most luxurious train in Africa. Pay attention here. Although the train does not look extraordinary from the outside, you have to see how it looks inside because it is something shocking. I don't know if you have seen anything like this before. Look at how the train looks inside. This cannot be called a train, this is a kind of first class on a plane.” said the young man, in a short clip posted on Facebook and Instagram.

Once inside, he filmed the luxury of the carriages and even entered the bathroom. While in Romania many trains still have clogged toilets and rusty sinks where there is rarely a trickle of water, the African train presented itself flawlessly.

UFO in Africa

“Here you can put your luggage if you have extra luggage. Sink here, soap, you can come and wash, you can look in the mirror. I'm curious where the toilet is. Oh, look, the toilet is here. Let's see how the toilet looks. Spectacular, isn't it? Fixed like an airplane, bro, so fixed like an airplane. Small sink in this, everything spotless and very, very clean. Let's see what facilities it has. You can You can charge your phone, you can use this chair, you can make a bed. You can put your feet in there, you can put your water bottle in here.he said surprised.

Adrian's conclusion could only be that the countries of Africa, the third world as they are called in Europe, evolve in some respects faster than Romania, the country where politicians argue on TV from morning to night, and the trains are crawling with freight.

“Look how beautiful! The bed has been made. Mom, something like that… something like that in Africa? I can't believe it. I'm shocked how much development some of these countries have and how little we develop in Romania. Look, you also have a seat belt. You can put it on. Super cool! And that's what you look like when you're in bed. It can't be better than that. It's more comfortable than a bed in a cheap hotel room. How cool!”Adrian added.

And if he initially thought that the TVs were rather out of shape or that they were defective, the Romanian tried it and discovered that everything is perfectly functional.

“Let's see what we find on the TV: video, music, seat function… let's see the video, does it have anything? Look, you can shoot… it has movies, are you crazy? Look, it has movies. This train is made by the Chinese, it takes five hours and twenty from Nairobi to Mombasa or vice versa. It costs 80 euros and reaches a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour on a route that is normally somewhere 480 kilometers away, but you realize that it's not going to go full speed you can pull this and you can spin the seat like that bro put it face to face with the person you love“, he also stated.

The train in Africa goes twice as fast as the one in Romania

It is interesting that the train from Kenya flies past the CFR trains that make the connection in Romania between cities like Bucharest and Cluj. On a distance similar to that of Kenya, the Bucharest – Cluj train needs 10 hours, when it is not late, to cover the distance that the African train does in a little more than 5 hours.

In Romania, there has been talk for years about investments in the railway infrastructure, which have remained much in the shadow of the road ones. Thus, the investment in a new railway line between Cluj and Oradea, through PNRR, which should allow the train to travel 120 and even 160 kilometers on certain segments, is behind schedule, and the risk of losing European money is major. So far, in almost 4 decades since the revolution, we can talk about only one success story – the modernized railway line between Bucharest and Constanța.

The European Commission would like Bucharest to be connected to Budapest by a high-speed train, which would run at 200 km/h and pass through cities such as Brașov, Cluj and Oradea. The project should be completed in 2020 with European money, but it is far from certain that it will happen that way.
