The Ministry of Justice publishes the lists of eligible prosecutors and the interview schedule for the leadership of the ÎCCJ, DNA and DIICOT Prosecutor's Office

The Ministry of Justice publishes on Monday, February 16, the lists of prosecutors who meet the legal conditions for occupying leadership positions at the Prosecutor's Office of the High Court of Cassation and Justice, the National Anti-Corruption Directorate and the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), as well as scheduling interviews, according to the official selection procedure calendar.

Shortlisted candidates were announced a week ago. According to the procedure, between February 23 and 26, 2026, the prosecutors will hold interviews before the Minister of Justice and a selection committee.

The results will be published on March 2 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, and on the same day the minister will submit the motivated proposals to the Section for Prosecutors of the Superior Council of the Magistracy, for issuing the advisory opinion. The final decision belongs to the president Nicușor Dan, reminds News.ro.

Among the already known candidates are the current chief prosecutor of the DNA, Marius Voineag, who is running for the position of deputy chief prosecutor of the general prosecutor of Romania, the military prosecutor Bogdan Pîrlogregistered both for the headship of DIICOT and for the position of prosecutor general, as well as the current prosecutor general Alex Florencewho is applying for a deputy position at DIICOT.

List of registered candidates

He is running for the position of general prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice Cristina Chiriacchief prosecutor within the DNA – Iași Territorial Service, and Bogdan-Ciprian Pîrlogmilitary prosecutor at the Military Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Military Court.

Marius I. Voineag, the current chief prosecutor of the DNA, signed up for the position of deputy general prosecutor.

He is running for the leadership of DNA Tatiana Toader, Vlad Grigorescu and Ioan-Viorel Cerbuand for the positions of deputy chief prosecutors of the institution – Mihai Prună, Marinela Mincă and Marius-Ionel Stefan.

At DIICOT, they registered for the position of chief prosecutor Ioana-Bogdana Albani, Antonia Diaconu, Alina Albu, Codrin-Horatiu Miron and Bogdan-Ciprian Pîrlogand for the positions of deputies they are candidates Aurel-Cristian Lazar, Alex-Florin Florenta, Claudia-Ionela Curelaru, Gill-Julien Grigore-Iacobici and Mihai-Răzvan Negulescu.

What's next

The interviews will include the presentation of managerial projects, the evaluation of communication and leadership skills, as well as the analysis of how the candidates relate to the values ​​of the profession. After the advisory opinion of the CSM, the proposals will be sent to the President of Romania, who will make the final decision.

The Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, emphasized that the procedure is clearly regulated by law and has no discretionary character, with the decisive role falling to the head of state. He stated that the selection mechanism is designed to ensure transparency, real competition and depoliticization.

For his part, the president Nicușor Dan declared that some of the registered candidates are “very interesting people” and expressed his optimism that the new managements will dynamize the activity of the large prosecutor's offices.
