UTA Arad prevailed on Sunday against FC Botoșani, score 2-1, in a match in the round with number 27 of the Super League. The drama reached maximum heights at the end of the game, when Valentin Costache converted a penalty kick, setting the final score of the match.
Alexandru Cîmpanu (25 years old), the scorer of the Moldovans, spoke at the end of the game about the evolution of his team, but also about the controversial phases at the end. Immediately after UTA scored the 2-1 goal, the Botošanians also received a penalty kick, but it was canceled by VAR.
Ștefan Cîmpanu: “I am very disappointed”
“Thanks for the congratulations, but they're in vain if we didn't manage to get a point. We had many phases where we were naive. I'm very disappointed, I think we could have come away with a point from here. It was a spectacular match, pleasing to the eye, but the disappointment is great.
I don't want to comment, there are people who know how to referee and can give their opinion. A very difficult match awaits us with U Cluj and we must be focused. We are in our hands, we will not give up, we have to play with more confidence and personality. I like all the matches, it doesn't matter if I'm playing against a former team, I have to do my job because I'm a professional. I hope to score in the next match as well”, he told Alexandru Cîmpanu, in a flash interview, at Digi Sport.

It was a pleasant match for those in the stands and those on TV, but the result does not help us. Too bad I didn't get at least one point. It's frustrating, but I also wouldn't want to talk about refereeing too much to interpret. We have to do our job and not talk about arbitration. We are moving forward, because a difficult match awaits us with Cluj University. I think we tried to show that our position in the standings this season wasn't a fluke, but it seems at the end of the regular season we couldn't keep up.
