After carrying the Olympic torch through the streets of Milan, Cristi Chivu arrived in front of the Sant'Ambrogio church.

A large group of people cheered the moment. Chivu was accompanied by his family. The torch then continued its journey to the Duomo square.

All will run alongside snowboarding legend Shaun White and Alberto Cova, Olympic champion in the 10,000m at the 1984 Olympics. Outside of sport, Carlo Cracco, well-known Italian chef, and Italian singer and songwriter Mahmood will carry the torch.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will run with the flame in Milan on Friday

Tomorrow, before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, scheduled for 21:00, the flame will reach Milan. It will tour Santagiulia, at the ice hockey arena, and end its journey in the Darsena, on the water, with Antonio Rossi as torchbearer.

Throughout Friday, it will pass from hand to hand, the list continuing with famous names: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, former Swedish striker and now adviser to the president of Milan, Federica Pellegrini, former multiple Olympic and world champion in freestyle swimming, and French Tessa Worley, former world grand champion in alpine skiing.

The Milan-Cortina Olympic Games will take place between February 6 and 22, in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Nadia Comăneci carried the torch in the boat at the Paris 2024 Olympics!

At the last Summer Olympic Games, 2 years ago in Paris, Nadia Comăneci was one of the many surprises of the French organizers. The legendary gymnast carried the Olympic torch on the Seine, in a boat alongside Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams and Carl Lewis.

“Exciting and memorable moments”, Nadia Comăneci said then on her personal Facebook page, along with a picture of the other athletes. Nadia surprised the spectators with her balance on the boat while holding the Olympic torch.

English journalists from The Guardian noted: “Only Nadia Comăneci, not surprisingly for an athlete who won two Olympic gold medals on the beam, seemed unfazed as the boat bobbed up and down.

At one point, Williams appeared fearful and clung to Nadia to calm herself.”
