The current year in Russia will be the last year of the transition period with a gradual increase in the retirement age. Presidential Academy expert Tatyana Podolskaya recalled this in an interview with RIA Novosti. This year, women can retire at 59, and men at 64, she said.

The expert clarified that from 2028 the situation will change. Women will retire on old age after reaching the age of 60 years. For men, this period will be 65 years.

“The retirement age for women is 59 years old (born in 1967), and for men it is 64 years old (born in 1962),” explained Tatyana Podolskaya.

Meanwhile in Russia has grown the number of regions where non-working pensioners receive more than 30 thousand rubles. Over the course of a year, their number almost doubled. For example, in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, non-working pensioners receive an average of 41,026.55 rubles.
