Major transaction on the courier market: Cargus, bought by Sameday. It was the last company owned by the Mideuropa Fund in Romania

Sameday, a courier company in the eMAG group, bought the competing company Cargus from the Mideuropa Partners investment fund, according to ZF data.
Cargus had business of 567.6 million lei in 2024. Although it is one of the main actors on the local courier market, the company had a slower growth than other companies in the field, registering a 25% advance in 2019-2024, when Sameday had one of 620%.
With business of 1.2 billion lei, Sameday concerns this purchase 1st place on the courier market, currently occupied by Fan Courier. The transaction needs the agreement of the Competition Council.
In 2018, the Investment Fund Mideuropa Partners bought from Abris Capital Urgent Cargus company, meanwhile in Cargus. At that time, the transaction was estimated at about 100-150 million euros, but the ZF sources now say that the fund has not come to win. According to the Ministry of Finance, Cargus has debts of about 80 million euros.
A few months ago, Mideuropa also sold Queen Maria, and in Romania she has only Cargus in the portfolio. The investment fund officials recently stated that they are still looking after the procurement on a local level and that they are going to announce new transactions.
