The dramatic moment of 1994
In the quarter-finals of the World Cup in the USA, Romania was leading Sweden 2-1, but in the last minutes of extra time, an uninspired cross from Prunea allowed Andersson to equalize, even though the Nordics were also outnumbered!
The match went to penalty kicks, where the Swedes, with Thomas Ravelli in goal, prevailed and qualified for the semi-finals. Later, Sweden was eliminated by Brazil (0-1), and the South Americans won the trophy in front of Italy, on penalties.
