Liverpool legend and Ballon d'Or winner diagnosed with cancer

Liverpool legend and former England international Kevin Keegan, 74, was recently diagnosed with cancer, his family announced in a statement on Wednesday. He is in hospital for further investigations before treatment begins.
Kevin Keegan made his debut for Scunthorpe United in 1968 and later played for Liverpool, Hamburg, Southampton and Newcastle United. Keegan also has 63 caps for England, scoring 21 goals.
Keegan's coaching career began at Newcastle, which he coached from 1992-1997. After two more years at Fulham, Keegan was the England manager, before managing Manchester City from 2001-2005 and a brief stint at Newcastle in 2008.

“Kevin was recently admitted to the hospital for a thorough evaluation of his abdominal symptoms. These tests revealed a diagnosis of cancer, for which Kevin will undergo treatment.
Kevin is grateful to the medical team for their intervention and continued care. During this difficult time, the family requests privacy and will not make any statement,” the family's statement reads.
In addition to his time at Liverpool, where he won 8 trophies, including a European Cup in 1976-77, two UEFA Cups and three championships, Keegan was also a German champion with Hamburg in 1978-79 and was named two consecutive Ballon d'Or winners in 1978 and 1979.
