The plenum of the regional committee of the CPSU discussed the issue of growing the ranks of the CPSU and working with young communists and the regional party organization. The plenum obliged the city committee and district committees of the CPSU to increase the level of internal party work in the primary party organizations, eliminate shortcomings in regulating the growth of the ranks of the CPSU, and improve the work of educating young communists.

The plenum also discussed the issue “On the tasks of collective and state farms in the region to further increase the production of livestock products.” The resolution defines measures to increase production and procurement of livestock products, improve mass political work among livestock farmers, and develop socialist competition for the early fulfillment of obligations undertaken by livestock workers for 1958.

The Plenum of the Regional Committee of the CPSU, having approved the results of the December (1972) Plenum of the CPSU Central Committee, determined the tasks of the regional party organization, which arose as a result of preparations for the exchange of party documents in the Khabarovsk regional party organization.

By decision of the regional executive committee of the Jewish Autonomous Region No. 66, the settlement formed on the territory of the Birsk Village Council was given the name Semistochny settlement.

Reference: At the Semistochny crossing, the village was founded in 1912. Semistochny is a village in the Obluchensky district of the Jewish Autonomous Region, which is part of the Birskoye urban settlement. The village of Semistochny is located on the left bank of the Bira River. Semistochny is located thirty minutes drive from Birobidzhan. The name is associated with the features of the relief. The terrain there is hilly, indented by rivers and streams.

In the “Birobidzhan Star” (12+), deputy chief mechanic of the Teploozersky cement plant A. Zubov wrote that preparations for the reconstruction of the fourth production line have begun at the Teploozersky cement plant.

“Specialists from Spassk-Tsemremont, together with the engineering and technical workers of the enterprise, will have to install an additional fifth support and extend the furnace by twenty meters. This will allow dismantling the ineffective sludge concentrator, increase the utilization rate of the equipment to 0.9 and obtain additional hundreds of tons of clinker. The entire scope of work, the teams of teams headed by V. Filyukov and I. Maslovsky, decided to complete within 40 days… Next in line is the replacement of the third building mills of the raw materials department.”

Economist of the Tunguska woodworking plant N. Chikisheva, in the article “Ahead of Schedule,” reports that the plant’s team will have to send consumers three million square meters of fiberboard.

“It was decided to achieve the planned milestone in the production of valuable building materials through more complete development of the capacity of the technological equipment.”

The head of the 16th Khingan geological exploration party, E. Shamarykin, says that the first meters of the exploration adit in the area of ​​the Nezametnenskoye tin ore deposit were carried out by S. Varkalov’s complex team in October last year.

“Using advanced mining methods and making the most of equipment, the miners managed to get ahead of the work schedule by a month. Previously accepted obligations were revised. The design target was decided to be reached by the end of February at 400 meters… The team of the third section is achieving the best results in drilling wells.”

The same issue of the newspaper contains information that Birobidzhan was visited by guests from Azerbaijan. The guests performed a variety revue “We are walking through Baku” (6+). The concert program included Russian, Azerbaijani, Georgian, Jewish songs, satirical miniatures, and musical numbers.

“The audience warmly received the artists Urfan Rzaev, Ilias Khachaev, Yuri Klimov, Emma Babajanyan, Valentina Konstantinova, Rinaldi and Igor Shabanov. Georgy Kokalov and Yuri Kukun hosted the program with ease and wit.”

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” wrote that following the results of the All-Union Socialist Competition in the second year of the five-year plan, the collective farm “Zavety Ilyich” of the Birobidzhan region was awarded the challenge Red Banner of the CPSU Central Committee, the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions and the Komsomol Central Committee.

“Today, speaking about the labor successes of the agricultural workers, one cannot help but remember our bosses – workers and employees of the knitting and clothing factories, the internal affairs department of the Birobidzhan City Executive Committee, the children from the labor and recreation camp, school No. 8 and others. Thank you very much, dear comrades, for this enormous help that you provided to collective farmers in the struggle for high harvests. It is a great honor to be the owner of the challenge Red Banner of the CPSU Central Committee, The Council of Ministers of the USSR, the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions and the Central Committee of the Komsomol. But this honor also imposes great responsibility on us. And our collective farmers say: we will fulfill and exceed the obligations of the third year of the five-year plan.”

In the same newspaper, under the heading “In our region,” it is written that at the Volochaevka-2 station, on the initiative of Komsomol members, an elective course on the fundamentals of railway specialties began to work:

“The classes are taught by young specialists O. Vasilyeva, A. Sova, and station chief N. Petrov. High school students of the sponsored secondary school No. 59 study the basics of automation and telemechanics, the rules of operating railway transport. Theoretical classes are combined with practical ones.”

Under this heading there is information that a regional seminar of physics teachers was held on the basis of the Birobidzhan Working Youth School No. 1, the topic of the seminar was “Effective use of equipment, classrooms and technical teaching aids in the educational process.”
