Phone scammers have updated themselves and are now trying to deceive us on behalf of WhatsApp – warn your loved ones. Children scare dogs by blocking them, stealing accounts and extorting money from their contact lists.
The scheme is as follows: the call center people introduce themselves as SB officers of Zuckerberg’s brainchild, threaten to block the application, and ask you to urgently dictate the “rescue code” to make sure that you are you. In fact, this is a combination to restore access to your account.
Fraudsters log into the profile, change the password and, on behalf of the victim, send a request to their contacts to urgently transfer money. The reasons are different, but mostly the mother/father/child got into an accident.
