Of course, not everyone wants to go to the gym every day and eat only fresh vegetables, but this is not necessary – just 6 simple rules will help you live as long as possible. Gerontologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Olga Tkacheva shares the details.
In a conversation with RIA Novosti (18+), the doctor named six main rules that will allow you to live as long as possible:
- prevention of chronic age-associated diseases. Give up bad habits, undergo medical examination and control blood pressure, cholesterol levels, glucose levels, body mass index;
- maintaining psycho-emotional health. Maintain a balance of work and rest, fight stress, try to maintain a positive attitude;
- quality sleep. People who sleep 6-8 hours daily live longer;
- cognitive training. Continue to regularly do what interests you, and also continue self-development and education, gain new knowledge and skills;
- love. This feeling causes pleasant stress, which prolongs the life of women and men, so do not be afraid of meeting new people;
- balance of nutrition and physical activity. Eat as much as you spend. If you eat a large amount, it means you need to spend a lot of energy. And the more developed the muscles, the longer people live and remain youthful. Your doctor recommends jogging or brisk walking every day for at least 40 minutes as physical activity.
As you can see, nothing extraordinary is required—small adjustments in your lifestyle, and you’re already guaranteed an extra 10-15 years.
