Field testing of road marking materials has begun in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. KrUDor reports this.
On 14 km of the Krasnoyarsk-Yeniseisk highway, specialists from the BRIZ-Center company laid several dozen test lines on the asphalt. Among them are paints, thermoplastics, cold plastics and ready-made piece molds. This way, road workers will check which materials can withstand wear better and are suitable for the region’s roads.
Every two weeks, specialists will go to the site and measure retroreflection, light reflection, brightness of markings and general wear of the lines. Observations will last three months. This is exactly how long, according to GOST, the markings should retain their qualities.
Such tests have been carried out in the Krasnoyarsk Territory since 2015. Their goal is to select materials that work best in regions with a sharply continental climate. The region has already used several new technologies in the field of road markings. Among them are full-color duplication of road signs on the surface, structural markings with thermoplastic, cold plastics for center and dividing lines, as well as a robotic complex for automatically applying shaped markings.
BRIZ-Center specialists apply markings on the regional road network, including at the sites of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.
